Baggage Policy

  • Virgin Atlantic follows a different baggage policy for carry-on and checked baggage policy. The baggage cost depends on the different classes. You have to pay extra baggage costs in Premium and Upper Class.

Carry-on Baggage

  • Virgin Atlantic allows you to bring one piece of carry-on luggage on all Economy and Premium Economy fares. It should not exceed the measurement of 23x36x56cm and weighs 10kg. Apart from this, you can carry a small handbag or rucksack.
  • Upper-class passengers in Virgin Atlantic Airways are allowed to bring two pieces of hand luggage. The combined weight should not be over 16 kg or 35 lbs and each bag must not weigh more than 12 kg or 26 lbs. Also, every piece can't be larger than 23 x 36 x 56 cm.
  • Babies between 0-23 months can bring one carry-on bag, but it should weigh no more than 6kg or 13lbs. Children who are 2 years old or older can carry the same amount of carry-on baggage as an adult.

Checked Baggage

  • Virgin Atlantic lets you check in one bag up to 23kg for free on most of its economy fares. If it is a long journey, you have a service called "Ship Your Luggage." This means you can send your luggage before pre-flight. You won't have to carry it around on the day you travel.

Sports Equipment

  • You can also carry your sports gear, like skis, snowboard, or a canoe, as one of your included bags. Make sure it can't weigh more than 23kg or 50lb.

Cabin Classes
